August Photos of the Month

Holey Moley!!! It is September 12th, and I have not posted my photos of the month post. This is getting crazy...

The first photo is a picture of my husband and his brother on their bikes as they took a drive up the canyon. I did not get to go but they always try to take a few pictures.  Justin is on the left.

My favorite practice picture yet. Sunflowers in the backyard, rising up out of the corn patch.

Our first real good garden fresh tomatoes. Ashton planted these TAXI tomatoes and they are yummy!

When Abi took a recreational therapy trip to her work, she ran into this couple. They are regulars and they have been following her story and missing her. They were thrilled to be in the restaurant when she made a surprise visit.

This tree was at the trail head on the way up to Doughnut Falls.
See the heart?

We sat on a bridge during our hike to get some photos.

When Abi had her "welcome home" party this was posted outside her work place.

One night there was a ton of lightning and Justin decided we should go and take photos at 11pm at night. We used to be so spontaneous before we had kids. It is so hard to get back into that! We went and we had fun. However we had a hard time getting any photos. By the time we got out to the Great Salt Lake most of the lightening had died down. We did manage a few  though.

This is taken the same time and place as the last 2 photos only this was across the freeway and behind us.  The moon was super bright and the clouds were really cool.

My refrigerator pickles.
I just really like the colors and the vintage look of this photo.

I am going to try to do better at taking more photos in September,
but alas we are already half way through!
Thanks for dropping by,
 Stacey

July Photos of the Month

July

July came in with a bang! These first 4 photos are at a friends house for the Fouth of July celebration.
We had a blast!!! Thanks Jon and Meg!
 Justin playing guitar
 Ashton
I can't decide which of these 2 are my favorite

This next one is at This is the Place Heritage Park. Elyssa is doing a Little House on the Prairie curriculum this year and she needed some reference on pioneer life.

Abi's Accident was on July 18th. I mean Trauma Dragon's accident.

Sometime during the first week of exhaustion silliness ensued.

This was taken when they moved Abi out of SICU  and into IMCU.

Our first harvest after the spinach and lettuce were done. 2 zucchini, 1 white patty pan squash, 1 green onion.

This is that same green onion. It was a monster.

Abi and I holding hands in IMCU.

The next photos were taken at Yuba Lake.

Justin taking pity on me and painting my last 3 toes.

This scorpion wandered right into our camp.  We were in a group area and camped on the blacktop. There was a lantern on the ground as we sat around talking before bed.  This guy was attracted to the light. I am ok knowing that there are scorpions out there and that they come out at night. I just stay on the path or at camp. But to have one wander over into my personal space, puts a whole new spin on things.

We had to share our beach with the cows. They only wandered through occasionally though. It was funny to see them on the sandy beaches.

More pictures from the hospital. This was after they moved Abi to the Surgical Orthopedic Trauma floor.

My baby brother and sister they are the youngest of the 6 of us.

Josh and Abi

This is what Abi thinks about this whole mess! Since this picture was taken she has not been this alert or chipper. She sleeps a lot and is exhausted.
Thanks for stopping by!

June Photos Of The Month

I love doing my photo of the month post. It gives me a chance to review all the photos we have taken in the previous month. It gives me a chance to reflect on our lives and all of our many blessings!
So I say, "On with the Parade of Pictures."

My beautiful spunky little missy. With her permanent pink hair.

At the zoo on June 5th.

My first time "capturing" the lightning.

June 12, Sand Dune Arch, Arches National Park, in Moab, Utah.
Same place as above. He really is like a cave man you know.

The Rotary Park, Moab, Utah

Her first strawberries from the her strawberry patch and her short hair.

Elyssa's second meal ever! Spaghetti with garlic bread and a salad. (greens from our garden)
It was a delicious dish and I am not just saying that.  Look at the fresh boxwood basil on top...

My favorite man in the whole really big world! And this IS exactly what  a cool dad looks like!!!

Chalk Art Festival. Gorgeous. Look for the post on this later in the week. Lots of photos to come.

Sharing a bit of cotton candy with her COOL daddy!

Ashton took this photo of the sun. I was so worried he was going to burn his eyeballs out, but he told me he was not looking at the sun. So that made it ok, I guess.

We got to puppy sit grandpa's puppy, Chico. Oh the love! Such a fun puppy to have around. I miss him. But our Skye Puppy, does not miss Chico, at all. As a matter of fact as soon as grandpa picked up Chico, and took him home, Skye was doing figure 8's in the living room. Running around like she had lost her ever lovin' mind. She was so happy!

And me doing my most favorite thing. Reading!!!! I read before bed, every night. I don't get much of a chance to read for pleasure during the day so I take advantage of it at night. I read to the kids during the evening or late afternoon nearly every day. They beg me to read to them and they sit enthralled. Sometimes we get 2 or three reading sessions in.  We are currently reading the Sisters' Grimm series. Fun stuff there! I love it too. We are on book 8 of 10.
Two years ago I read the whole Twilight series to them, of course I had to edit some of it. I would love to read the Fable Haven series to them, but Ashton has already started the first book. I have read Chronicles of Narnia also. And many more. We usually read instead of watching TV in the evening. This is one of my most favorite ways to spend time with my kids!!!
Now I need to start thinking along the lines of what is next?
 ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Leave me a comment if you have a great book recommendation for me or my kids.
