One Saturday we drove across the Arizona border into the back country. Not very far... but we were going to a mica pit.
I had the hardest time photographing the sparkle of the "Glitter Hole"
But Ashton did a much better job of it once I handed over my camera.
There was so much mica I did not know where to start or what I was looking for. I ended up just doing a bit of hiking for a while and looking around at the neat mica pieces in every shape and size. I watched the kids and Justin dig and pry the pieces they wanted. About the time we were ready to leave, the kids were digging out huge pieces of mica. And then Uncle rick helped Elyssa pull out some really really big pieces!
